Zhaoxing Dong Village, a close-knit community of about 1,000 households the largest Dong village in China, is a village located 72 km south of Liping and surrounded by green mountains, with the Zhaoxing River flowing through it. Zhaoxing is divided into five sections-ren (benevolence), yi (justice), li (courtesy), zhi (wisdom), xin (faith). The houses are typical pile dwellings with black-tiled roofs. The village also boosts five wooden drum towers, four flower bridges, and five theatrical stages.
