Western Xia Tombs
The Western Xia Tombs is located near Helan Mountain and contains the tombs of emperors from the Western Xia period. There are eight tumuli and over 70 annex tombs and is one of the largest and best preserved tomb sites in China. The Western Xia Tombs encompasses more than 100 thousand square meters. Each tumulus has its own group of various buildings and is home to over 193 high officials, generals and aristocrats. One of the unique features of the Western Xia Tombs is the four corner turrets that mark the boundary of each mausoleum.
