(Service End)
Temple of Universal Peace was built while Qianlong was Emperor of China. It is located in the north eastern corner of the city and was built after one of the earliest Buddhist monasteries in Tibet, Samye Temple.
Temple of the Potaraka Doctrine is the largest of all the eight temples that are in Chengde. It is located north of the Mountain manor for Escaping the Summer Heat. The main entrance to the temple is representative of a city gate tower.
Chengde is located a few hours drive northeast of Beijing. The city attracts many tourists each year because of the many different temples located in the city, as well as the summer resort and beautiful scenery.
