Tour Itinerary
First, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive a few hours northeast to the old resort city of Chengde. After having lunch, you will tour the Temple of Potaraka Doctrine, built in 1767 and modeled after the Potala Monastery in Lhasa. After touring the temple you will visit the Summer Resort, built between 1703 and 1792. This resort was the second political center of the Qing Imperial Court. Afterwards our tour will take you back to your hotel in Beijing.

The Summer Resort of Chengde lies in the north of Chengde City, Hebei Province. Known as "the temporary palace of Chengde", it is the largest existing imperial garden and also one of the top 10 scenic spots in China. Besides the appealing scenery, the Summer Resort is also a priceless historic heritage.
Temple of the Potaraka Doctrine is the largest of all the eight temples that are in Chengde. It is located north of the Mountain manor for Escaping the Summer Heat. The main entrance to the temple is representative of a city gate tower.
Chengde is located a few hours drive northeast of Beijing. The city attracts many tourists each year because of the many different temples located in the city, as well as the summer resort and beautiful scenery.
