There are a lot of things to do on the island and is the biggest activity center in the city. During the summer and the ice festival there are many different programs and lots of things to see.
The Songhua River in northeaster China flows from Changbaishan through the Manchurian Peninsula and empties into the Amur River, separating China and Russia. This river is very important for transporting goods in northeaster China and also provides the source for drinking water to millions of people.
Saint Sophia Church was built in 1907 by Russians and is not only one of several Orthodox churches in Harbin, but is the biggest and most elegant. Recently, the interior of the church was restored, but left in as much of its original state as possible.
