In Mongolian Gegentala means a place for spending summer. Gegentala Prairie is situated to the north of Mt. Daqing, around 145 kilometers away from Hohhot. The prairie is a beautiful and scenic spot protected by both the Natural Tourist Bureau and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Visitors are often awestruck by the outstanding beauty of the untouched landscape of the prairie.
The songs and dances of Mongolian, which are often performed with the accompaniment of uniquely Mongolian instruments such as the morin khuur and tovshuur, are easily distinguishable from music from anywhere else in the world.
