Trip Highlights - This tour visit the main attraction in Lhasa and Namtso. The features of this tour are: one is to learn the Lhasa city culture; two is to watch the scenery of Namtso Lake which is one of the three most sacred lakes in Tibet. Nam Tso Lake, the second largest saltwater lake in Tibet, is 250km northwest of Lhasa city. Nam Tso Lake is about over 70km long, reaches a width of 30km and is 35m at its deepest point. This is the best tour for you to marvel at the beautiful but harsh landscape of the holy lake Namtso with perfect view of the ice-capped Nyenchenthangla Mountains.

Tour Itinerary
Day 01:Arrival in Lhasa (L/D)
You will arrive at the Gonggar Airport and be greeted by your tour guide. Then you will drive to Lhasa and have a rest in the afternoon at a 4 star hotel.

Day 02:Lhasa (B/L/D)
Today you will visit Norbulingka Park and the Sera Monastery. Afterwards you will then visit the Potala Palace, constructed in 637 by Songtsen Gampo, the first king of united Tibet. Later you will visit a Tibetan Family and then be taken back to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.

Day 03:Lhasa (B/L/D)
Today you will visit the Jokhang Temple and the bazaar at Barkhor Street. Afterwards you will be taken to the Carpet Factory and the Tibetan Traditional Medicine Hospital. Finally you will see Drepung Monastery, constructed in 1416. The second through fourth Dalai Lamas once lived here. Afterwards you will be driven back to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.

Today you will drive from Lhasa to Yangpachen, unique for its geothermal energy. Then you will travel to Damxung, north of Lhasa city. Upon your arrival you will be taken to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.

Day 05:Damxung/Heavenly Lake Namtso/Lhasa(B/L/D)
In the morning you will visit Heavenly Lake Namtso and the surrounding grasslands. After spending a few hours looking around the area and enjoying the scenery, you will be driven back to Lhasa and taken to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.

Day 06:Departure from Lhasa (B)
If there is time before your flight, you will visit the Tibetan Museum. Then you will be taken to the airport for your return flight home.

The Norbulingka is the Summer Palace for the Dalai Lamas. The park was built in 1755 by the 7th Dalai Lama. This place was the headquarters for the Dalai Lama during the summer and the procession from the Potala to Norbulingka was a big event and a festive occasion.
Namtso Lake is known as one of the five most beautiful lakes in China. In Tibetan, Namtso means "Heavenly Lake", and is known as one of three holy lakes in the region. Namtso Lake is not only the second largest saltwater lake in China but the highest altitude saltwater lake in China as well as the largest lake in Tibet.
