Trip Highlights - Pingyao Taiyuan 3 Days Tour is a combo for tourists to understand those two cities deeply. Pingyao lies about 700 km from Beijing and 80 km from the provincial capital - Taiyuan. It used to a financial center of China. Now it is well known for its well preserved ancient city wall, city layout and housing structures in Ming and Qing dynasties. The streets and storefronts still largely retain their historical outlook. Taiyuan, the capital of the Shanxi province, rests in the valley of two mountains, the Taihang Mountain Range to the east, and the Luliang Mountains to the west. Now Taiyuan is one of Chinas heavy industrial cities and accounts for more than half the national coal mining output. Pingyao also has imposing buildings associated with banking.

Today's Activity: Qiao Family's Compound
You will be met on arrival at the airport or railway station by one of our dedicated local guides, who will bring you to the hotel in Pingyao. On the way our guide will show you around the Qiao Family's Compound, a great introduction to the area. The compound was built in 1756, and went through two renovations and one expansion. It is well-preserved and is regarded as a representative of North China folk houses in the Qing Dynasty. Its magnificent structure and delicate decoration attract numerous visitors.

Day 02: Pingyao (B/L)Today's Activity: Pingyao Ancity Town
Leave in the morning for a tour of the ancient City Walls, Ming-Qing Street, and the Chenghuang Temple. Next is a trip to the Tongxinggong, an old bank security company housed in the heart of historic Pingyao. Finally the tour will take you to the beautiful Shuanglin Monastery.

Qiao Family's Compound The Qiao Compound is not only known for its grandeur but also for the exquisite craftsmanship, which is reflected in the brick carvings, woodcarvings, and murals.
Pingyao Ancient City
Situated in Pingyao County, right in the middle of Shanxi Province, just 100 km away from Taiyuan, the Pingyao Ancient City is renowned as a hotbed of historical and cultural relics. The city has over 3000 battlements and 72 watchtowers according to the disciples of Confucius.
Ming-Qing Street were the noisiest centre of business at that time Situated on South Avenue. The streets are not very wide, with various kinds of shops orderly arranged along the road.
