Tour Itinerary
Day 01 Arrive in Urumqi (L/D)
After being picked up from your airport you will be transferred to a 4-star hotel and have the remainder of the day at your leisure. Urumqi, located north of the Tianshan Mountains, is the capital of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and is the center of the economy, culture and political life in Xinjiang.

Day 02 Urumqi (B/L/D)
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and first visit Heavenly Lake, also known as Jade Lake. After visiting this site, you will then visit Red Hill Park. At the top of the hill there is an 8 meter high, nine story tall pagoda that you can enter. Afterwards, you will visit the Xinjiang Museum, which houses several minority culture's objects as well as Silk Road artifacts. Then you will be brought back to your hotel.

After breakfast you will leave your hotel and drive for a few hours to Turpan. First you will visit Thousand Buddha Cave. These are some of the most important Buddhist grottoes in China. Afterwards you will visit Flaming Hill, which are made up of red sandstone. After lunch you will visit the famous ancient ruined city of Jiaohe, an important garrison for this region of China during the Western Han and Tang Dynasties. It is the largest, oldest and best preserved ancient city in China. Afterwards you will stay in a local 4-star hotel.

Thousand Buddha Cave: The Bizaklik Caves were created during the ancient Huihu State and the inscriptions in the caves are written in Uigar, Chinese and other languages. There are several caves that have hundreds of murals; however, the murals have been destroyed several times by different groups of people or periods
Flaming Mountain: The Flaming Mountain runs across the Turpan Basin in northern Xinjiang. The mountain is famous for its importance in the most famous Chinese novel Journey to the West.
Xinjiang Museum: The Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region Museum was built in 1953 and a new museum was built in 1962 using local architectural styles.
