It is the largest dam to be built so far in the world and will be able to generate over 18,000 MW. Today you will tour the dam and learn about its history and how it was built. Afterwards you will visit the Chinese Sturgeon Museum. The museum is located inside the Chinese Sturgeon Garden, in Xiaoxita. The museum was built in 1993 and its main purpose is to preserve and protect rare species of Chinese sturgeon as well as 27 other species that exist in the world.
