Tour Itinerary
Today you will visit the Three Gorges Dam Project. The dam began construction in 1994 and was completed in 2006 with the finishing touches to be completed in 2009. It is the largest dam to be built so far in the world and will be able to generate over 18,000 MW. Today you will tour the dam and learn about its history and how it was built. Afterwards you will visit the Chinese Sturgeon Museum. The museum is located inside the Chinese Sturgeon Garden, in Xiaoxita. The museum was built in 1993 and its main purpose is to preserve and protect rare species of Chinese sturgeon as well as 27 other species that exist in the world.

The dam is more than two kilometers across and is 185 tall. The project will cost a total of $25 billion and the entire project will be finished by 2009.
The Chinese Sturgeon Museum is located inside Chinese Sturgeon Garden, in Yichang city, Hubei Province. The museum was built in 1993 and its main purpose is to preserve the many different types of sturgeon found in the world, especially the Chinese sturgeon.
