Kashgar is one oasis, about 1300m above the sea level in a cul-de-sac formed by the Tian Shan, Pamir and Kunlun ranges. Despite its isolation, Kashgar has seen plenty of traffic over the last 2000 years, as a major Silk Road town and a crossroads for invading armies. The Abak Hoja Tomb, The Id Kah Mosque, The weekly Sunday Market, The Karakuli Lake, Tashkurghan, The stone city are some famoust local attractions.
