Qianling Park
Qianling Park, covering an area of more than 300 hectares, is one of the few parks located in an urban area of Guiyang. It is named after Mt. Qianlingshan which was awarded the title of "The first Mountain in South China". The park is famous for old trees, Qianling Lake, Seven Star Lotus Pond and many other scenic spots. There are ancient engraved calligraphies drawn by several calligraphy masters along Nine Winds Path. There are eight predominant scenic locations: Sanlingwan, Macaque Garden, Hongfu Temple, Kylin Cave, the Zoo, Qianling Lake, the Wind-Rain Bridge, and the Winding Mountain Path.
On the western bank of Qianling Lake stands a memorial to the martyrs who died during the war for the liberation of Guizhou Province. Qianling Park, with 98% forest cover, is the perfect habitat for macaques and more than 500 of them live in the Macaque Garden. Here, you are able to get up close to these animals and observed their behavior. Besides these above, there are also other attractions like the new Xiangwang Mountain, Ancient-Buddha Cave, and Kanzhu Pavilion, etc. All of them have their own picturesque charm.
