Afghanistan

Afghanistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country in South-Central Asia. The territory now forming Afghanistan have been an aciant focal point of the Silke Road. It covers an area of totally 647,500 square kilometers and has an estimated population of more than 28 million people. It is an important geostrategic location, connecting East and West Asia or the Middle East. Its capital was shifted later from Kandahar to Kabul and most of its territories ceded to neighboring empires. Afghanistan is a country at a unique nexus point where numerous Indo-European civilizations have interacted and often fought, and it was an important site of early historical activity.
