Cyprus, offically the Republic of Cyprus, is a Eurasian island country in the Eastern Mediterranean, south of Turkey and west of Syria and Lebanon. It is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and one of its most popular tourist destinations. Cyprus covers an area of 9251 square kilometers with a population of 0.9 million people. The Capital of city in Nicosia which is the largest city in Cyprus. Cyprus gained EU membership on May 1st, 2004 and established diplomatic relations with China on December 14th, 1971.
