East Timor

East Timor, also known as Timor-Leste ,officially the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, is a country in Southeast Asia. It covers an area of totally 14,874 square kilometers and have an estimated population of over 1 million people. The head of state of East Timor is the President of East Timor, who is elected by popular vote for a five-year term. Because of the wars with Indonesian troops in late 1999, East Timor's economy was largely destroyed, and there are a number of refugees at this country. It developed diplomatic relation with China in May 2002. Since then the bilateral relation between the two country has developed normally.
