Egypt

Egypt, officially the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a transcontinental country of a total size of 1 million squarekilometers mainly in North Africa with the Sinai Peninsula, with 95% of the area dessert but sharing a 2500 kilimeters coastline, forming a land bridge in Southwest Asia. With a population of about 79.5 million Eygpt is the largest in the Arab countries of the world. China and Egypt established diplomatic relations on May 30, 1956. And the relationship between the two countries has been developing very smoothly. Since then many leaders from the two countries have paid state visit mutually in different periods of time. In April 1999, Egypt signed a joint communiqué with China on establishing strategic cooperative relationship.
