Indonesia, officially the Republic of Indonesia, is the largest islands country in the world located in Southeast Asia and Oceania. With an area of 1,919,440 Km2, Indonesia comprises 17,508 islands and has a population of around 230 million people which is the largest population of Muslims. Indonesia is a republic, with an elected legislature and president. The country has around 300 ethnic groups, each with cultural differences developed over centuries, and influenced by Indian, Arabic, Chinese, Malay, and European sources. The capital city is Jakarta. It developed diplomatic relation with China on April 13, 1950. The national day is Augest 17th.
