Madagascar

The Republic of Madagascar is an island nation in the Indian Ocean off the southeastern coast of Africa. Madagascar, as the main land, is the fourth-largest island in the world. Madagascar covers a total area of 587,041 square kilometers and has an estimated population of over 20 million people. The unique mix of plants and animals in Madagascar, many found nowhere else in the world, make some ecologists refer to it as the "eighth continent". Madagascar is the world's largest producer and exporter of vanilla which has historically been of particular importance. It exports the vanilla involved in Coca-cola. China established the diplomatic relations with Madagascar in 1972.
