Maldives

The Maldives, officially the Republic of Maldives, is an island country in the Indian Ocean formed by a double chain of twenty-six atolls stretching in a north-south direction off India's Lakshadweep islands, between Minicoy Island and Chagos Archipelago. It covers an area of 298 square kilometers and has an estimated population of nearly 0.4 million people. Its capital and largest city is Malé. It developed diplomatic relation with China on October 14, 1972. Since then the bilateral relation between the two country has developed normally, and the cooperation levels have been continuously increasing between the two countries.
