Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Northern European country occupying the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula, Jan Mayen and the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard under the Spitsbergen Treaty. Norway has a territory of 385,252 square kilometers and an estimated population of 4.9 million by the year of 2011. Norway is the world's seventh largest oil exporter and the second largest exporter of seafood. Norway established diplomatic relations with China on October 5th, 1954. Since then the bilateral relations have developed smoothly and steadily.
