Tanzania

Tanzania, the United Republic of Tanzania, is a nation in central East Africa to the west bank of the Indian Ocean. It covers an total area of 945,203 square kilometers and has an estimated population of aroun 43 million people. China established diplomatic relations with Tanganyika and Zanzibar in 1961 and 1963 respectively. When Tanganyika and Zanzibar were united and became Tanzania in 1964, it is natural for China to extend its diplomatic ties with Tanzania. Tanzania is China's largest aid recipient country in Africa. Since 1964, China has provided various kinds of assistance to Tanzania.
