Simatai Great Wall
Simatai Great Wall is located in the northeast of Miyun County of Beijingcity. Simatai Great Wall is the essential part of The Great Wall; it has been identified as “world-class treasures” of human super cultural heritage by UNESCO. Simatai Great Wall was built during Ming Dynasty under the direction of General Qi Jiguang. It was of utmost significant to the defense of Beijing and still remains intact despite its great age. It is about 5.5km in length and fortified by about 35 watchtowers, connecting with Jinshanling Great Wall to the west. Simatai Great Wall is the only one that no modification among many great walls and it still retains the original style of Ming Dynasty buildings. It is praised like this: Great Wall of China is the highest in the world; the Simatai is the most of China Great Wall.
