Tour Itinerary
Itinerary (B: Breakfast, L: Lunch, D: Dinner)Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa
You will arrive at the Gonggar Airport and be greeted by your tour guide. Then you will drive to Lhasa and have a rest at your hotel in the afternoon.
Day 02: Lhasa (B/L/D)
Today you will visit Norbulingka Park and the Sera Monastery. Afterwards you will then visit the Potala Palace, constructed in 637 by Songtsen Gampo, the first king of united Tibet. Later you will visit a Tibetan family and then be taken back to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.
Day 03: Lhasa (B/L/D)
Today you will visit the Jokhang Temple and the bazaar at Barkhor Street. Afterwards you will be taken to the Carpet Factory and The Tibetan Traditional Medicine Hospital. Finally you will see Drepung Monastery, constructed in 1416. The second through fourth Dalai Lamas once lived here. Afterwards you will be driven back to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.
Day 04: Lhasa / Yamdrok Yumtso Lake / Gyangtse / Shigatse (B/L/D)In the morning you will leave Lhasa and drive to Yamdrok Yumtso Lake. Then you will drive over two of the highest passes in Tibet, Kambala Pass at 4,794m and Karola Pass at 5,010m above sea level. When you arrive at Gyangtse, you will visit Palkor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa which is the largest stupa in Tibet. Continue your way to Shigatse and you’ll be transferred to the hotel in Shigatse for the evening.
Day 05: Shigatse / Old Tingri (B)
In the morning you will visit Tashilunpo Monastery before continue your way to Old Tingri via Lhatse and Shegar. Over there the guide will help you prepare horse carriage and you can have a rest in the local dorm guesthouse for the reminder of the day.
Day 06: Trek to Danak
Today you will start your trek from Old Tingri heading south and pass through Rachu and Lungjang. Along the way you can enjoy the beautiful view of Rachu River. After arrive in Danak, you will spend the night at the local dorm guesthouse.
Day 07: Danak / Nam-La Pass / Chogorong
Wake up with the sunrise, today's trek continues up to the valley. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful view of snowmelt river of Mt. Everest and Cho Oyu in the valley. Overnight in the camp.
Day 08: Rongbuk MonasteryToday you will still do a little trekking in the valley then cross the river, then the car will be awaiting for you to the Mt. Everest towards south. You will pay a visit to Rongbuk Monastery which is the highest one in the world. Overnight in Rongbuk guesthouse.
Day 09: Trek to E.B.C
Today you will head up to the Mt. Everest Base Camp after a break at Rongbuk. It's two hours trekking to the base camp where is as far as you can go as a tourist. Then take the local assigned minibus to the guesthouse for the night.
Day 10: E.B.C/ Shigatse
You will take a 4-5 hours drive back to Shigatse after catching a stunning Everest peak sunrise. Overnight at Shigatse.
Day 11: Shigatse/ Lhasa (B)
In the morning, you will drive back to Lhasa from Shigatse along the northern friendship highway, which you will be able to view the beautiful Bramaputra River. After arrive in Lhasa, have a good rest in the hotel.
Day 12: Depart from Lhasa (B)
Free on your own till transfer to the airport for your next destination.
